I am happy to take advantage of this creative membership drive by enrolling my son Amit Shah, MD as a new patron member. I am sure that all the patron members will take benefit of this unique honor and privilege to register one young physician in practice. The future of AAPI's success will be shaped by the joint efforts of the old guards and young active and dedicated members. With 45000 practicing physicians, AAPI has a great potential to excel and achieve our goals. Hope this endeavor be just a beginning of a major membership initiative.

It’s an excellent opportunity as a mentor to involve Medical Students, Residents and Young Physicians to become life members of AAPI. This will not only strengthen the Organization, but would also cherish the dream of AAPI leaders to involve younger generation. All my family members are life members of AAPI. I wish to applaud the sincere efforts of the current AAPI leadership under Dr Vinod Shah for making a serious effort towards significantly increasing AAPI membership this fiscal year. This bold step of inviting the current Patron members to nominate a new Patron member at a reduced rate is likely to generate tremendous interest. I sincerely hope that this step leads to a marked increase in the number of younger Indian-American physicians in particular--as AAPI attempts to pass on the leadership responsibilities to the next generation. Increased membership will further assist AAPI towards more effective Advocacy and other essential matters during this critical year of major Health Care Reform. As Patron members--my wife and I certainly plan to nominate our two children--both second generation physicians--as AAPI Patron members.
